Wear a helmet! I have a set of these that range from 5 to 80 lbs in my home gym. They are great for the money but I have 2 complaints. The first is that the paint chips off and falls in my eyes when pressing above my head. The second is that the welds that hold the ends onto the center bar are poorly done. Poorly made, may be dangerous I bought these (a pair each of 40’s and 35’s) because they are less on Amazon than a dollar-a-pound (which is a great deal). They are disappointing. I wouldn’t guess that such a simple product as a cast dumbell could be so poorly made. They are poorly cast, mis-shapen on the ends and I had to use a hammer to get sharp leftover cast material off the handles. One of the 40ib dumbells also sounds semi hollow when tapped on the floor. It weighs almost a half pound less than the second 40 lb…
